Hockey Supporters, Community Members, Parents, Outstanding Citizens,

On behalf of the HAWK Hockey Family I want to personally thank you for your donation to the Showcase Exhibition Hockey Game featuring the West Michigan Special Hockey Association Patriots versus HAWK Pee Wee 1.  This very special event was held this past Saturday at Walker Ice and Fitness.  This is the second year we’ve hosted the exhibition game and silent auction.   Our goal is to help raise money to support the WMSHA in their efforts to bring hockey free of charge to dozens of kids who otherwise would not have the opportunity due to physical or other disabilities.  This year’s action packed day exhibited multiple events including an amazing National Anthem singing by Kristin Shawl, Drum Line appearances by East GR Drum Line, silent auction of over 90 items, chuck the puck, 50/50, and even Finn our beloved sidekick of Griffins mascot Griff.  And of course some amazing on ice interaction between the highly skilled Hawk Players showing  heart felt compassion and sharing to help multiple players on the Patriots in scoring goals through the game.  The game ended in a shootout with all players having the opportunity to carry the puck and score the game winner.  Throughout the morning and continuing through the afternoon game time we had over 400 people show their support for the WMSHA with overwhelming generosity.  Together we raised over $2,700 for the WMSHA!!  This money will help ensure these great kids get the on-ice opportunity that so many of us take for granted.  Overall this is a 10% improvement from last year and will set the bar high for next year where we hope to see you again.
